We were able to do the planning and decor for a wedding in on October 19th of 2013. All photos were taken by the talented Kristi Sheriff.
The wedding took place at the Willard Arts Center. We did both the ceremony and reception at this location and it was such a fun atmosphere with the color pallet.. or lack there of. We chose to do two different set ups for the center pieces and dinner portion. We used these fabulous black ceramic urn style vases (as seen above) filled with white roses, white hydrangea, black curly willow and accented with elegant brooches. The second center piece we chose to make was a 3 piece center piece also with hydrangea and roses along with white orchids. The containers we used were clear vase cylinders with black aqua beads.
Because the ceremony was on a different floor we wanted to dress up the stair case so that the upper and lower events felt like one unified space.
We used organza to do a basic swag and where we attached it to the banister we used flowers to dress it up.
Below is the ceremony space. This photo is before we had the runner with the hydrangea out, but it really shows the drama of the backdrop we made custom and the floral tie backs. It was perfect for the space.
We also go to put together an exquisite brooch bridal bouquet. It weighed what felt like a ton, but it was stunning!
We also made some really fun custom signage for the menus during dinner and the reception.
Lastly, I found a really cool old tree branch that stood over the sign in table that we anchored in cement and I sprayed black and silver sparkles. I then made all white hanging pomanders to put in the tree branch. It was really awesome.
The tables you see to the side are High boys that we used for the coctail hour. We did a white linen to the floor and a black runer in the middle to creat a stripe. We pulled them out into the middle of the floor so they were ready as the guests came downstairs from the ceremony before they went into the dinner.
